Submitting a contact inquiry or requesting the free mystery-writing guide does not automatically subscribe you to ongoing marketing emails.
Facebook and Instagram resource requests
My advertisements may use Meta’s Instant Forms, which open within Facebook or Instagram. Meta may prefill your name and email address using information associated with your account.
When you submit the form, the information you submit becomes available to me. After submission, you can access the free guide through the download button provided on the completion page. Email delivery is not required to obtain this guide.
You may choose to subscribe separately to my writing emails.

Email subscriptions and Kit
I use Kit, formerly ConvertKit, to manage my email list and send subscription emails. Kit processes information such as subscriber names, email addresses, subscription preferences, and related records needed to provide those services.
Kit offers features that measure email opens and link clicks. Whether these interactions are recorded depends on the settings enabled for the communication.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages. You may also contact me at Alex@SimmonsHereAndNow.com to request removal from my marketing list.

Website hosting and technical information
Hostinger hosts this website. Its hosting systems record technical information about requests to the site. Available information can include:
- IP addresses.
- Dates and times of requests.
- Requested pages or files and request methods.
- Browser or device information.
- Approximate country.
- Response sizes, response times, and status codes.
This information supports website operation, security, troubleshooting, and traffic reporting.
Hostinger also maintains website backups that can contain website files and database information.

As of the revision date above, older Google Analytics code has been identified in the homepage source, but its current operation has not been confirmed. Other manually embedded analytics or advertising code has not been ruled out. This policy will be updated as those configurations are verified.

Security tools and external services
The website includes Wordfence security software. Security tools may process technical request information to identify suspicious activity and protect the website.

Messages and associated information may remain in the website, email systems, or backups used to handle correspondence. Contact-form information is not automatically added to my marketing email list.

Personal information is processed by providers supporting website hosting, email subscriptions, security, and communications, including Hostinger and Kit.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, disputes, or legal claims.
How long information is kept
Free-guide requests: I retain identifiable free-guide lead records in systems I control for up to 90 days after submission, then delete them unless you separately subscribe, become a client, or retention is required by law.
Newsletter subscriptions: I retain subscription details while you remain subscribed. Limited information may be retained afterward to record and honor unsubscribe requests.
Inquiries and client correspondence: Information is retained for as long as needed to respond, provide requested services, maintain relevant business records, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Technical records and backups: Hosting logs and backup copies follow the applicable providers’ retention arrangements. The period during which logs can be viewed does not necessarily indicate when they are deleted. Information deleted from active systems may remain in backups until those backups expire.
Meta’s retention of information within Facebook and Instagram is governed by its own policies and controls.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can choose whether to subscribe to ongoing marketing emails and can unsubscribe at any time.
